I think it clears the ECU memory which has adapted fueling (and hence power) to suit the type of fuel and driving style. Unless any techies out there know better.

Admiral +1. I've found them 40 to 50% cheaper than the rest. When I first got the Camaro I took out a 4 vehicle policy with them, paying £300 ish for the 2SS and saving almost a grand on the other 3...
