Oh... yeah, the MAP readings should be pretty accurate. I can't say that I have analyzed them much. The readout for MAP definitely APPEARS to be accurate.

I can't remember if that parameter lights up or not. I want to say it doesn't, but I'm not sure about that. I think that parameter may only be for factory turbo engines.

Think of it this way. Torque is instantaneous power. Horsepower is torque over time. It might drop in torque, but there are more instances at higher rpm, and that adds up over time.

Also it might be they are revving the previous gear to make sure they land in the powerband on the next. I have driven nothing but manuals for all my life. My shift points are wherever i want them :).

I use mine to log spirited driving and draw the parameters on a map. I also use it to read/clear codes.
