Shoot....those pesky Germans and I-talians don't know squat....they just make some damn fast rides.

If you add power, you need to add cooling. Plain and simple. Intake air, engine coolant, and...

IIRC the o/d cogs are 36 tooth driving a 30 tooth. So 3.8X30/36=3.17. 3.8" with o/d cogs would be the equivalent of a 3.17" front pulley with 1:1 rear pulleys.

On a stock motor with long tubes, O/D cogs with a 3.8" pulley will get you 11ish psi. If you have the fuel flow, good octane, and a tune that makes sense...you should be fine. I wouldn't use the 3.6"...

I thought the HB's came with a 96mm pulley? They're available in 3mm increments. Each 3mm decrease in pulley size = roughly an extra lb of boost in an LS3. An extra lb of boost gets you 15-20 more...

Unreal is spot on...as usual. If your mechanical c/r is 11:1 and you can give me your cam specs, I can get you close on the DCR.

Seems like Magnuson should have gotten this right by now. I bought a Heartbeat for my C6 Vette when they first came out. The kit came with an LSA IAT sensor. But, it wasn't scaled right in the tune....

Here's my recipe for a fun Maggie ride....

Get rid of the VVT DOD stuff. BTR stage one cam would be my "shelf" cam of choice if you don't want to go to a custom cam.

Add a 3.8" front pulley...

Agree with Unreal. The stockers flow pretty well. No reason to mess with the heads if that's all the power you're after. If you have to pull the heads to change lifters (L99), that might make me...

If it hydro locked spinning that slow, it would just stop. There would be no catastrophic failure. It would take some pretty violent goings on to break a piston and separate said piston from the rod.

I'm using a 224/234 116+2 in my LS3 with Heartbeat, bolt ons, and 9.5 psi. It's a cam of my own design. Basically a very similar cam using Comp's LXL lobes vs the more aggressive LSL lobes used on...

Yeah, if you have to pull them off anyway, I wouldn't put stockers back on either. You won't gain much power wise. When you decide to get a bigger blower you'll be loaded for bear though:thumbsup:

I wouldn't fool with ported heads. Bang for the buck would be quite low with a P1. Wouldn't go apeshit with the cam either. Mid 220's on the intake. Mid 230's on the exhaust. 113 or 114 LSA if you...

Don't do that. The Heartbeat is lighter than the previous TVS blowers. You won't notice it. You will, however, notice if your cabin is hotter than the gates of hell.

If you made no other changes, you'd be 3-3.5psi higher than you are now. With LT headers and a good exhaust, you're looking at 1.5 to 2psi higher. 9 to 9.5psi would be my guess. I'm at 9.5 to 10 psi...
