Neither was the Z06. . . the only reason a Z/28 might beat a Z06 (base) around some tracks is tires. That's it. Equal tires and equal drivers, the Z06 will win handily.

In a drag race the Z06 will be considerably faster. On a road course I might bet on the Z/28 as the tires are far superior and the brakes seem to be fantastic. The z06 really needs stickier tires...
