Had a '85 GMC Sierra shortbed, modified suspension and had the wheel wells removed... driving down the freeway and couldn't avoid hitting one of those things... it wrapped around the passenger...

Get a oil filler cap (filtered, like the RX) with a check valve... when you put one of those on, you can remove the vacuum line and cap off at the air intake and the engine... removing the line...
