Red, you know better than most, only the front joint of the U is open to the exhaust. The rear joint is butted against the pipe instead of installing a cap. Much more rigid this way.

I'm with Higgs. I have truned the DFCO off and still had decel poping on LS3 motors. Increasing entry and exit timing lessens the pop. The automatics don't seen to have any noticeable pop.
