That was gonna be my suggestion, had to do that quite a few times then had a family friend tell me to rub a little oil on the filter gasket when installing the new one so it wouldn't seize up.

I don't know about Texas but here in NC children under a certain age are not allowed in the front seat especially if in a car seat. The air bag alone can cause severe injuries. But to each there own.

I wouldn't use one of those blades, had one and it scratches the surface when grit sticks to it. Someone posted a video to test some washing methods and the water blade did the worst damage.
