On both the V6 and V8 the water tray does not fit into any of the tabs on the radiator. On the V6 and V8 the tray can be positioned into place and not move (wedge it in place) mine has been on my car...

I have done the mod I prefer the ZL1 water deflector I like the way it looks no issues on my car, my buddy has it on his SS no issues contacting the engine cover, or his Procharger.

He said it was Ashen Gray Metallic same color as the 2013 ZL1 painted insert I went with the same color. On his IOM it really pops now he just needs the ZL1 bumper to go along with it :)

Correct but IMHO the ACS insert is so much better both for looks plus pulling a good chunk of the hit air out if the engine compartment. A win win in my book ACS did a fantastic job I love mine.
