Regarding using Gunk - I've used it in the past...

Regarding using Gunk - I've used it in the past but was told by a mechanic that it cleans too well and may dry out the seals; especially on older cars.

Almost happened to me too. I ended up routing the straw through a gap at the top of the silicone coupler at TB. That worked out best for me.
