If your battery is charged, the charging voltage will still fluctuate. It will definitely not stay in the middle, even if you drive 100 miles a day for weeks on end.

Had the AFM lifters on my L99 replaced. This is a major service as the heads have to come off. If you are looking at A6 cars, you should ask whether this TSB service was performed.

No leaks = no problem.
