I had an undetected slow leak at 19k miles. Eventually the diff started rumbling and groaning. Seals went, then the insides got chewed up. Chevy replaced under warranty.

At 700 miles , I changed tranny fluid, gear oil, oil filter and engine oil. Get the break-in shavings out of diff, tranny, etc. Went with Amsoil for tranny and diff, Mobil 1 for engine oil.
