Just to further explain what butters had posted.. Look at the flow arrow marked on the bottom side of the pump, and see in the other picture that the feed line is going to the flow out side....

It was the sump tank for the scavenge system......

It was the sump tank for the scavenge system... Except the pump flow was marked on the bottom of the pump, but the system was hooked up backwards so it never flowed through to the valve cover hookup....
