Plain water isn't going to have the lubricity needed for claying.

Any type of detail spray or WW combo will suffice. No need for a "dedicated" clay lube.

I would be more weary of the squeegee stripping away any sealant.

Do the iron removal after the wash. You use a sponge during the iron removal process and if done previous to wash, you will grind that dirt in.

Make sure you do everything in shade or garage.
