I agree. I use one just to give me assurance against anything that might have already been in the bucket or maybe got introduced from the hose nozzle. You never know.

If they are matte, don't do anything to them. If they are gloss you are fine to apply an lsp. Sealant will be better than wax because of the residue wax will leave on the edges.

Why would you expect a dealer to warranty iron that rusts? That's what iron does. Would you try to take ice back for melting? Do you take alcohol back if it evaporates?
