FYI, had this issue today. Disconnected battery for a few seconds which usually solves these issues (didn't have much time as I was filling up with gas). Didn't resolve the issue.

I was in the same exact boat but I drive better roads in Florida where I'm at. I really think you should do the Hotchkis. It will remove most of the gap and the car will not have the 4x4 look...
