I had the connector in my doors, but they were dead. I cut the connector off and spliced into the wiring if the door switch. I think it's the yellow/red for the illumination of the door switches.

I would do it right and pull the door panel off, it's about 10 min of work. I don't think you would be able to compress those clips from the outside.

I had mine out on Saturday to replace my cloth seat covers. Used a butane burner, heated the bolt 10 sec. and used a regular ratchet about 12" long with a t50 bit. they came out in about 5 seconds.
