when i had my mustang, i had a CAI and tune with an axleback. when i took it in to the dealer, i would swap out my CAI for my stock airbox and reflash to stock. never had any warranty issues....

i don't have a true answer but i don't think it can be something as simple as a fix it ticket. there's probably a pretty hefty fine and you may need to get something that states you've reverted back...

if you go f/i you'll need a tune, the tuner could turn off the O2 sensors so you don't get a code. i know a lot of mustang guys who have long tubes and did that.
