Engine can take all the power you can make with a DS1 and more. I would ditch the fast intake and put that money towards fuel system or other upgrades. A stock intake will work fine.

It comes off with the wire. I don't know about the wires you got. On some you can reuse the metal boot which is good heat protection.

Agree with Rhino79.. with the right parts and good tuning, the 6L80 can last a while, especially if you are not racing it.
2 summers at 780whp on mine and its still running perfectly.
