I think on my 2001 GMC it was that way too,...

I think on my 2001 GMC it was that way too, changed shift points and also kept it from going into overdrive..

Not only does S mode hold the gear longer it will...

Not only does S mode hold the gear longer it will downshift sooner either in giving it more throttle or when going up hill in cruise control. Going down hills it will hold gear better for engine...
