A broken valve spring can do a lot of damage. Did they pull the head and inspect the piston and cylinder? What work did they do to repair the car?

Oh that sounds too familiar... #1 cylinder intake valve spring (crap TEAs with only 9000 miles on them). Engine is on the stand and just trying to put money and a plan together for the new engine....

Well the budget is putting the project on hold but I think I've got it worked out. Going to run a 10mm spacer and the late model truck studs that are longer. Going to work pretty good I think.
