I don't know about the cams gears. However I will go with the LS2 style dampner. It does not cost that much and adds a little to the safety margin.

With the 6L80 you run in 4th gear which has a 1.15 ratio. So you are giving up a few horsepower just because the gear ratio is not 1:1.

I have built intake manifolds in the past and the runners are the tricky part of it. The plenum is the easier part in comparison. However IMHO the Vararam product looks pretty good.

Yep, going with the Melling oil pump on my new build. Ryan the junkyard 6.2L gave up the ghost on my 65 Skylark. Putting in a 427 short block. See you later this Summer for another tune.
