If its just going to be a race car which I am assuming thats what you're doing I would just fabricate my own and paint it, metal, or carbon fiber if you want weight reduction.

I've done it, check out my build thread to see it, Teenage dream is the name of it. I took the cloth off the dash strip and the door panels and my hydro dip guy got the adhesive off and I got it done...

dipyourcar has a remover that works really well i'd get that its safe for paint too I believe, its citrus based. Spray on let it sit and then pressure wash off, tada!

3M works good just get the ones with the least amount of stickiness to them. If you can't find that just get the blue, it works fine. and after you polish or wax etc. you'll see a bit of build up but...
