I started with the factory A6 shifter, but didn't care for it. Shifted over to the B&M Outlaw shifter and like the feel much better. The stock A6 one will work though.

I believe Baumann was working on a standalone controller for the A6 transmission. I have their US Shift controller on my 4L80E and it is a really nice, cost-effective piece.

Should be fine if you didn't damage the threads in the aluminum head. The bolt can handle a lot more than 18ft-lbs before yielding (even if it was a Chinese bolt.. LOL).
