Regardless of the age of the post, what struck me is that Camaro owners not knowing what an SLP ZL Camaro was just a few years past when they were made. There were different levels (price points) as it were, depending on how much kitchen sink was added. Maybe if it was a loaded ZL575 pushing almost 30K past the price of the car, nobody would think it was an LSX block. There was a 23K mile SLP Transformers ZL575 at Mecum a few months ago in Vegas that went for $35K I think. Good deal for what it is, but a factory ZL1 would be around that. Just depends on what you're looking for.

Some of those people need some history lessons. The SLP 5th gens were some of the coolest non-factory "could have been" Camaros built during that time. When the Camaro returned, the 2SS hardtop was the top dog at 426 HP or 400 HP depending on transmission choice. And it was a big, open slate just ripe for aftermarket performance platforms to develop. And develop they did.
