My suggestion is to wait until your level of apprehension comes down and you become more in tune with the idea of the "higher" possibility to break things when you go F/I. Otherwise, you will not enjoy the added power, because you'll be nervous all the time pushing the car. Drive the car for a while, and once you "accept" the fact that shit will happen and I'll deal with it when it does, then find a good shop near by and let them guide you through it.
My sincere suggestion is just go enjoy the car the way GM has designed it, and then start modifying it.
