I own a car lot in Pittsburgh PA. and I can tell you first hand that you will never get all the money we put into our cars. I really think it sounds like a decent number for the car. I would try to get a couple more bucks out of him and call it a day. If you wait to long you have to keep making payments and even if they do give you more money for it you are not any better off.
