I tuned a Trans Am today that had been "tuned" at two local shops. It was a heads and cam with a 3600 stall. The car would hit the rev limiter in each gear. He was told by the last shop that tuned it that he needed a new transmission. I told him to come by, and if I couldnt fix it or he didnt like how I set it up, dont pay me.
We'll when the other shop sets each shift to shift at 20 MPH, doesnt allow the TCC to lock up, and commands 12.6 AFR but has a final AFR of 11.2, that shop just makes me look good.
You guys know I get a little anal and once I plug in, I have to try and fix everything I find. I fixed his WOT, Transmission shifts, and knock retard because it was commanding 28 degrees. I was paid and he was happy.
I just want your car to run like it was my car. I have to like the way the car turns out before I give it back.
