There is nothing to worry about. The scoop directs additional air flow into the air box but it does not create a vacuum capable of sucking water or snow vertically. Once the air enters the scoop it makes a 90 degree turn and travels about 1 foot vertically to the air box. With our scoop there is a 45 degree panel that directs the air vertically and provides a surface for moisture to condense against. Once it does there are holes at the bottom of the panel to allow for drainage.
