My "Plan B" would be to remove straight pipe and add after market mufflers like Magnaflow or Flowmaster. GMPP looks good too, but NOTHING seems to be available NOW. I LOVE the car but it definitely needs some added "attitude" in the exhaust area!
I would welcome opinion from those with some experience in this area. Thanks all.
I have some experience with the Dodge 5.7L hemi with MDS which in similar to the engine managment system in the GM's. When adding after market exhaust you could more clearly hear the transition from 8 to 4 cyl. mode, kind of a bop bop bop sound not annoying but very noticable... Because of the automatic tranny I think the biggest problem might be lugging the motor around in 2nd under slow aceleration and in 6th gear while crusing you might get some resonance and be forced to down shift to get around it with auto stick. A tuned exhaust like the stock or many good quality aftermarket systems are careful to eliminate these issues... So while the straight pipes on the LS3 manual trans may sound good you might get some quirky sounds with the L99.
