Yeah, cam62, good test. I'm not up on automobile computer electronics, but it seems to me it would be BEST to plug-in and unplug this device only when the ignition is fully OFF. Voltage spikes, etc., can do nasty things. Again, maybe it doesn't matter but that is one test I will NOT be doing. Thanks for the info though.
