I don't know if mine is defective, or if the instructions are not clear if an SS owner separates the white wire and fuse from the red wire. Perhaps the fuse removed to put the white wire in disabled the radio, but I am not about to randomly try things.
Hey, I apologize for the delayed response! I just now saw this post.

Did you ever figure out the issue? We have never had this problem before.
