History lesson of the day:
Ghetto = The word "ghetto" actually comes from the word "getto" or "gheto", which means slag in Venetian, and was used in this sense in a reference to a foundry where slag was stored located on the same island as the area of Jewish confinement. An alternative etymology is from Italian borghetto, diminutive of borgo ‘borough’.
The corresponding German term was Judengasse (lit. Jew's Lane) known as the Jewish Quarter.
I am pretty sure that is not what you were referring too.
But I degress.
When you quote, dont forget to include the rest of the definition...
But I degress.....
2: a quarter of a city in which members of a minority group live especially because of social, legal, or economic pressure
3 a: an isolated group <a geriatric ghetto> b: a situation that resembles a ghetto especially in conferring inferior status or limiting opportunity <the pink-collar ghetto>
