That the white wire on pin 43 is the amp turn-on wire. So, I guess Gen5DIY is using this same wire to send power to the faceplate
All that being the case, I don't see why I couldn't use the same white wire as a power source to the backup camera.

Im pretty sure that the white wire may be a data turn on not 12v.
How many wires on your camera? If you need switched power, just tap into the accessory plug wires in the console.
