Uh... Federal Reg is just like Cali. The days of the 49 state cars is long gone.

It's no more legal to remove emissions equipment in Texas than it is in any other state.

Like Hennessey's World's Fastest Production Street Car. Not legal for sale in that trim anywhere in the USA as a new car, street registered.

The fact you can pass California Emissions with a 1200HP Bugatti Veyron or a 707HP Dodge Hellcat tells you something. Some shops are just too lazy to get the power and keep the emissions down. Too much work. Bumped our Z06 from 405HP to approx 450HP without affecting emissions. Tuning and tweaks with the cats in place.

Trust me, if you're in any Smog Check state, you'll eventually get sick of stripping off the emissions equipment. It might take 12 years like it did me, but you will tire of it. And now that many tracks have noise limits too, even dragstrips, making monster power and keeping the car registered will be sign of a true engine tuner.

Hennessey is the Teflon Tuner. He really screws up, but somehow gets tons of press anyway. He the Kim Kardashian of Tuners.
