Of course the finance Dept. makes $$. We will try to beat any advertised rate with our lenders. We have a credit union that beats most of our customers banks rate, and they still give us a part of that for bring them the business. In addition, GMAC obviously has their offers of a lower rate or 0% during GM sales, etc.
A larger half of our business is cash customers, but those who have financed have been very pleased. That's why we have a large repeat business!
