Sport mode holds each gear a little longer (higher rpms). It also seems to shift faster. It's basically a more aggressive setting for the transmission.
But to be honest, I'm not sure how much faster it makes the car run
(0-60mph, 1/4 mile), but it definately makes the car feel faster.
