Your SS is equipped with an oil life monitoring system and this will actually tell you when to change the oil. I am sure you aware of that. On my personal vehicles I tend to change the oil every 5k miles. The oil cap of the SS says Mobile 1 so I personally always stick with the oil that comes in it.
