Drag racing, road racing, AutoX...
It is designed to stiffen the chassis of the car and make sure the front and rear subframes are tied directly to the main frame of the car. As we have all seen there is a lot of movement in the rear diff cradle area, which is why the rear bracing is so much more involved with this.
