Well, I’ll tell ya – every Tahoe I’ve owned has had hot forced air blowing out the vents when the outside air temp was above about 70 degrees with the temp set at cold. So even with the outside temp at 75, say, I have had to use A/C. Now I notice the same thing with the Camaro but the temp is lower – say 60 degrees. Above about 60 degrees I have to use A/C or roll the windows down – which I do a lot. I think that the cold forced air – that is air pushed in by the movement of the car – and not conditioned by the A/C is routed through ducts that are in or near the engine compartment, and the ducts get hot. If this is true, then I guess that it means that we shouldn’t worry about it – it’s normal.
