I notice a GRINDING noise every once in a while when backing up. It SEEMS to be coming from the left front of the car. I can't tell if it's brakes or transmission.
I thought the same thing. I could have sworn it was the rotors grinding or something. Sounded like it was in the wheels and only did it when I was backing up. Turned out it was only the heat shield issue.
