Here are a few stock V6s I found quickly that have run 9.3 or better in the 1/8th.

etmx183 9.236
I'm sure there are more, but it goes back to the original point. Something wasn't right if a GT was running 9.3s and easily beating the Camaro. Perhaps that was driver error, too.
