Grandson named him Bruce after the shark in Finding Nemo. Big, gray, with gills and a fin antenna, and to quote him "kinda scary looking". So it wasn't a big stretch.
I, however, prefer using Spielburg's? Jaws reference for the inspiration. But in reality, I very seldom refer to him by name unless the grandson is around and I'm being silly.
