I think the common mistake is people assume the 1LE axles are "beefed up" for drag racing. The car was built as a track car and the components added like zl1 bearings and a hybrid SS/zl1 axle is not to endure the shock of a launch. It is for longevity on a road course. Driveline shock at a drag strip or on the street puts very different demands on components.
