I have one and its a fairly simple concept. Im not currently using mine to control boost at the moment but you dont ened a boost controller to control boost. You can can utilize whatever # spring you want to use to bleed pressure at the desired boost level.
there are benefits and cons to this. The benfit obviously that you are building faster quicker and limiting the top end but this is at a cost of parasitic loss and adding additional stress to the blower.
