Umm I will most likely get flamed for these opinions so here
goes my thoughts.

1) No official statement has been made as to a weight
difference between the two rims. I believe Scott informed
me at the Frederick National Camaro event that they
weighed the same. If I mis heard him then I would
be first to apologize to everyone here, that I gave misinformation.

2) If indeed the SSX rims do in fact wiegh less then the polish
ones, then this would help to reduce the stock ZL1's
weight. I would imagine that they have a target weight
for the finished product, which could also help to avoid the
GGT.

3) Perhaps the mostly is that the SSX rims costs less to
produce then the polish rims. Thus helping to lower
MSRP on the stock version of the Zl1. I'm sure that GM
is hoping to keep this car as affordable as possible

4). Lastly GM does read these threads concerning the ZL1, and
perhaps they felt from the feedback here that the SSX rims would be the most popular of the two.

I imagine in the coming months we maybe given some
additional insight from GM concerning the rims and thier
choice for using the SSX rims for stock.
