there isn't anything in the VIN that denotes a z28. there may be some marking on the trim tag ("X" code .... i'd have to look it up in a book). but not all z28's would be marked. unfortunately, there are more clones on the roads these day .... more "1969 z28's" on the road than were produced in 1969, so it's really important to do all of the checking prior to paying any cash!!!

all 1969 z28's came with front disc brakes, manual trans, 302 DZ code motor ("DZ" stamped on the block, passenger side front of motor behind alt) and no A/C. no z28 convertibles were produced. there may be a build sheet behind/under the rear seat and/or between the trunk floor and the gas tank.

let us know what you find out .... it will be interesting to know if it's real or not. you might consider looking for info on camaros.net .... it's a forum focused on the early camaros.
