ford could never fit the 5.4 modular because the taller deck meant redesigning the front crossmember or cutting a hole in the hood to clear the valve covers lol
now about 12+ years ago on crownvicnet forum there was a guy trying to drop the V10 modular engine in his vic but I dont know if he ever finished it.
there was a factory concept car a few years ago with the V10 but that was alot of money into it.
