Can you imagine if you bent it up into something important? the metal bolts would hold it there.

I've ripped off a few things over the years, mostly due to snow and sliding off into it. The Audi TT Roadster ('01) had a ton of stuff on the underside to take care of air flow without them handling changed quite a bit at uh, highway speeds yeah.
This. The fasteners are designed and manufactured that way for a reason.
