I would offer slipping the clutch is not the right approach, finese the throttle - launch with only 1/3 to 1/2 throtlle then feed the engine throttle (as much as she can take) you will hear the engine start to bog if you are giving it too much throttle.
It takes the computer a while to recover from hitting the rev limiter. Its not just the timing your pulling when you hit the redline. I think you wouls see your times improve just by shifitng before redline using the clutch to shift.
