Yes the fine teeth on the metal blade left a very nice edge, but since you never see most of it, it's not real important. The hood insulator I used a utility knife to score it through the cut hole then I used heavy duty scissors to cut it out. I also painted the cut edge of the hood black so it would not be visible through the front vents.
